Frequently asked questions
How does CoasterPlanner decide the order of rides?
For every ride we know the average wait hour by hour (readings every 5 minutes) and, on the day itself, the live wait. The engine tests tens of thousands of orders and keeps the one with the most rides and the least queuing, taking walking distances, meals and the shows you picked into account.
How reliable are the wait times?
On the day, we use the wait times posted by the parks, refreshed every 5 minutes. For a future date they are forecasts based on history, and they improve every day as readings accumulate.
Can I combine Disneyland Park and Disney Adventure World?
Yes. Select both parks: the engine picks the best moment to switch and counts the transfer time between the entrances.
What if I have a skip-the-line pass (Premier Access, Filotomatix)?
Tick it in the “Fine-tune” step: the wait is then counted as a flat time and the ride can be scheduled right at peak time.
Are height restrictions taken into account?
Yes. Enter the height of the smallest person in your group and rides they can't board are left out. Heights come from the parks' official websites.
Why does the plan include “free time”?
When the day isn't full, it is sometimes better to wait for a queue to shorten than to join it at peak time. That free time is perfect for a show, a meal or re-riding a favourite.
Do I need an account?
Not to plan. An account (passwordless, via an email link) lets you save your plans and share them with your group.
Is CoasterPlanner affiliated with Disney or Parc Astérix?
No. It is an independent site, not affiliated with the parks. Trademarks belong to their owners.
